this has nothing to do with christmas, nothing to do with the new year's holiday, nothing. i remember in high school, i'm not sure when at all, other than to say it was during the last two years, and probably senior year. [then again maybe it was during the first year of university..] my girlfriend at the time was getting rid of a lot of clothes she either didn't need or want or whatever, and she let my sister look through them first. i honestly can't tell you whether or not my sister took anything or how many items or if so, what they were. i only remember thinking that the last thing i need is for my sister to be walking around in my girlfriend's clothes.. especially when she was no longer my girlfriend, those just aren't reminders one needs. i doubt she was able to take very much as i don't think most of it would fit her [though maybe it would at the time], as she [my girlfriend] was/is quite petite and though my sister wasn't too much taller, she still was. and i don't mean for that to come off as a diminutive statement in the sense of making her seem small [as that carries connotations i'd never imply of her], but diminutive in the sense of fondness. she's quite cute. but i've digressed.

perhaps it's against the grain, while at the same time very much with it, that i don't like to spend a lot of holiday time at home with relatives. i mean it's nice for a bit, which many people feel, but i don't need that huge tradition. i like being at other people's houses and taking in their traditions and seeing how they do things and just feeling newness, it sort of helps bring back that anxiousness of christmas i had as a child, because i never know what to expect. i miss being on the arsenal, in pennsylvania, tennessee, indiana, south carolina..

i guess this is the point where i'm supposed to drown myself with eggnog, but, i hate it. hopefully butter biscuits with chocolate will suffice..
