if you asked me what was in my sarnie i just had, i wouldn't tell you. i feel dumb for having had it, and i'm the only one around. [do people really say 'sarnie'?, or is that just exported slang to laugh at people for using? not that it would matter, as i'd still use it.]

i realize that everyone outside of the united states loathes americans. surely i don't know exactly how they feel, but i do know some of it. quite often i don't like knowing that i am grouped with such arrogance, such overbearing obnoxiousness, such backwards thinking, such stubbornness even in the face of reality, such pretended care coupled with such inaction, often such stupidity, whether i deserve to be so grouped or not. [admittedly probably often.] so i can only imagine how people from other nations must adore our often-hideous culture being pumped into theirs, and our government having its nose and hands where it surely shouldn't. and i'd like to apologize, but truly it would mean nothing, and do less to change anything.

but there is one thing i'm proud of. (well there are more, but they mean little in comparison.) and that is, fifty-five years ago my grandparents and their generation helped save the world. as trite as that statement has become over decades of use, it is true. if it wasn't for them, english and french might very well be as common as latin in conversation. and i don't mean to seem patriotic and drunk on 5.5 decade ago's events, because that isn't the case.

i just hope america can change how fucked up it is so i can try to overlook 4.5 decades of destroying the world it saved. [what a sodding american thing to say.]

villain am i none; therefore farewell;
