it is unsettling to confront deep issues or ones with significant consequences. even when trying to eliminate something harmful and become better. i guess it does not really matter what the outcome is as much as simply pursuing a better path and finding some peace with whatever comes from that. what it has taken and likely will take to get there, however, still weighs very heavily on my mind.
