for the most part, i think, you only get to see a side of someone. that's why it is so exhilarating to see deeper into someone. and why it is disappointing to see something in that side and have that be all there is.

there are moments where i want to shake someone, yell at them to wake up. but it's more likely that they have and i'm just being simple, expecting more, expecting what i want to see, which is naive at best. either it is a mirage or it isn't, but there's no safe way to check.
