this woman and i dated years ago in our early twenties, and then again in our early thirties. and when we kissed she tasted the same. odd thing to say, but i'm going somewhere.

think of all the things that go into body chemistry and all the things you did differently at 30 than 20. diet is different, health and exercise routines, different toothpaste, prescriptions, hormone levels. despite all that, kissing her tasted the same more than ten years later.

that, to me, is a perfect example of how even though we change considerably over time, there must be something that transcends this change. something that maintains continuity. i'm curious about that bit.
