i think what i meant is that i would rather be quiet than awkward, which seems right, in general. but i'm quite good at being alienating with my comments, so i find it interesting that i would defer in certain circumstances just because a cute girl is around.

after an actual stimulating conversation at odd hours this morning, i think the reason i am not interested in putting myself out there and playing the game is because i am not interested in playing games. all the fake stuff does not pique my interest in any way. i understand to some extent one must put up with the malarkey and play along. and to some extent i will. but i think my tolerance for shenanigans is far lower than average. (maybe.)
